A high-end, top of the line string for the same price as a basic synthetic gut!. Reaction was created to compete against Wilson's number #1 selling string, NXT. It was supposedly offered a crisper feel for players wanting enhanced control. Reaction is a great string in it's own right, but was not significantly different than NXT. So at the expensive of Wilson's mistake you can have a string that performs at the high-end for the fraction of the price. NXT is $14 and Reaction was $11

Reaction lived under the shadow of Wilson's #1 selling string, NXT.   The string never really caught fire with the tennis world.  It's a great playing string, a high-end string that provides feel, feedback and control.  Reaction is basically a crisper playing version of NXT in which NXT sells for $14/set while Reaction sold for $10.95.

Wilson will no longer produce Reaction string, hence the great close-out deal.  The sets are 100% genuine Wilson Reaction string, but packaged in a clear cellophane.  Why package differently?  Wilson provides a free set of Reaction string with every demo racquet purchased by a retailer.  This was Wilson's way to insure the strings would be installed in the racquet rather than sold.  But since the string is on close-out, they can be sold.
