FIRST TAKE:
From the super oversize head to the extra length and head-heavy balance, the O3 Silver is built with beginners and intermediates in mind.

HOW IT TESTED:
You can’t miss this frame’s key technology: mammoth grommet-free holes along the sides of the head that allow the strings greater room to move on impact, which makes the string bed more resilient and expands the sweet spot. And if you have arm problems, you’ll be happy to learn that the friction from the strings’ movement against the frame eliminates vibration, for a sensation damper than the lawns at Wimbledon. But here’s what makes the O3 Silver really shine: Although it delivers enough power for players who have picked up the game, it isn’t just for bunters because it has plenty of control, even with a medium-length swing. The super-oversize head and open string pattern bite into the ball for lots of spin, while the light weight, maneuverability, and punch on volleys make it perfect for club doubles specialists. One quibble: Stability could be better. Otherwise, we wouldn’t change a thing.
BOTTOM LINE:
This racquet is proof that a lightweight super oversize can offer terrific power and control for the masses.
