Crossbow 10 Tennis Racquet
Our
Review
The Head Crossbow 10 is a high powered oversize frame made for beginners and other players with compact strokes. This racquet's expansive sweet spot and and easy swing can help almost anyone keep more balls in play with less effort.
Head's unique Crossbow bridge keeps the hitting comfortable and adds to the frames potent power potential.
On the court, the Head Crossbow 10 offers lots of power and spin with minimal stroking. Our play testers especially liked the effect of the big power and excellent maneuverability for hitting serves and overheads. Around the net, the Crossbow 10 easily produces powerful shots with a modest blocking effort. Our play testers were also pleasantly surprised to notice that the Crossbow 10 performed as well as the Crossbow 6 for placement and control, although it does require a considerably shorter stroke to keep balls in play. We highly recommend the Crossbow 6 for power hungry players with more aggressive swings.
Dinkers and pushers will delight in the Crossbow 10's potential playing long points with variety and efficiency. Seniors, beginners, and anyone else looking to make the most of short strokes will like what the Crossbow 10 does for their game.
Tennis Magazine Review
Sales Pitch: If you’re looking to power up your compact strokes, the CrossBow 10 should be a good fit.
Compare To: Head Metallix 10
How It Tested: There’s nothing subtle about the CrossBow 10. It’s light, powerful, and meant for players who prefer an extra-large racquet face. Get the stick between you and the ball, use an efficient, linear swing, and it will work just fine. Power is enhanced by the CrossBow bridge in the throat. Moving independently from the rest of the frame, this bridge stores energy and then releases it when the ball leaves the stringbed. It also enlarges the sweet spot because it has 10 main strings (the ones that go up and down) running through the bridge, more than in many fixed-bridge racquets. The redesigned Head Stabilizer (metal strips on the shaft) acts as a counterbalance to help steady the frame and bolster comfort. Some playtesters wished there was a little more stability and feel on volleys, but they appreciated how well such a big frame handled at net. The biggest kudos came on the serve, where the easy maneuverability resulted in lots of extra pop.
Bottom Line: This should be a welcome addition on the senior club doubles circuit.

Technology
Head introduces the world's first dynamic
bridge racquet construction. The
bridge is suspended from the frame and
moves independently which allows the
racquet to store energy in both the
stringbed and the bridge. The concept acts like a spring or a
bow that is loaded during ball
impact. This new found energy is
unleashed in every shot providing
incredible power. CB enlarges
the sweetspot because it has 10 main
strings going through the dynamic
bridge. It has a bigger sweetspot
than a conventional fixed bridge
racquet. Playing consistent powerful
tennis has never been easier. HEAD
Stabilizer
The New re-design HEAD Stabilizer is
incorporated into the racquet shaft area
for a more sleek, aerodynamic
design. During ball impact, the
stabilizer continuously swings in an
opposite direction to the flex of the
frame which counteracts the frame's
oscillation and is extremely effective in
stabilizing the racquet for a very
solid feel.
