Magazine Review
FIRST TAKE:
This Head is ideal if you bring your own power and want a racquet with pinpoint control.

Head Liquidmetal Prestige
HOW IT TESTED:
For 20 years, the Prestige has been Head’s gold standard for advanced players. This update has the same solid feel, but has been improved with Flexpoint. Unlike many technologies that are meant to help you play better when you miss the sweet spot, Flexpoint improves your performance when you nail it. The holes and dimples at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions of the head allow the frame to bend on impact, cradling the ball for more control. This doesn’t turn the Prestige into a game-improvement frame with a huge sweet spot, but it lets you swing hard without sacrificing control. It’s an improvement that advanced players with long, fast strokes will appreciate. The midsize and mid-plus offer a blend of power and control. And although they weigh around 12 ounces, they’re head light, so you shouldn’t have much trouble at net. We wish we could say the same for the extra-long, but advanced playtesters said the length compromised maneuverability at net and made it difficult to get their timing down on serves.
BOTTOM LINE:
We can’t vouch for the extra-long, but the midsize and mid-plus are terrific updates of a classic racquet.
