Head Microgel Extreme Pro Tennis Racquet Review
New for 2007, the Head Microgel Extreme Pro is the racquet endorsed by Ivan Ljubicic. This is one of the more powerful frames you'll see at work on the pro tour. Ljubicic made his debut with the frame at the ATP Qatar Exxon Mobil Open 2007 and aptly demonstrated the potential of the racquet by winning the tournament!
The Head Microgel Extreme Pro is made for advanced competitive players seeking to dictate play with heavy pace and spin. Players with a style and strengths similar to Ivan Ljubicic will be right in the bullseye of the target market. This frame helps aggressive players serve bigger, play shorter points, and create more offense from the backcourt. It flexes it's muscle most of all on serves. Our play testers found the frame to equally capable of putting opponents on the defensive with flat serves or with aggressive kick serves. Off the ground, the Head Microgel Extreme Pro is very well suited to big hitting players who are eager to attack from all areas of the court.
One of Head's design goals for this frame was to offer superior feel and stability with its new Microgel frame technology. Head's Microgel frame binds with the composite fibers in the frame. It deforms and compresses with ball impact to help distribute force throughout the entire frame. On the court, our play testers complimented the solid feel and excellent feedback of the frame. Head's Microgel succeeds at dissipating vibration without sacrificing the the feel that advanced players want to hit with control.
Some of our intermediate play testers preferred the lighter and more powerful Head Microgel Extreme.
