Head Microgel
Extreme Team Racquet Review
The Head Microgel Extreme Team is the most powerful and spin friendly frame in Head's 2007 Team series. Head also makes a Team version of its Radical and Instinct models. The Team series racquets are designed to be easier-to-use with generous power and above average maneuverability.
For extra power, the standard length Head Microgel Extreme Team uses an oversize head. It shares the beam profile and 16x19 string pattern of the other Extreme models including the Pro version endorsed by ATP touring pros Ivan Ljubicic and Mikhail Youzhny. Like the other Extreme frames, the Head Microgel Extreme Team hits with a firm and composed feel.
On the court, the frame's light weight and easy handling made the strongest impression with our intermediate play testers. The additional power provided by the oversize head and the frame's light weight translated into big serves and very successful net play. From the baseline, the racquet requires a faster, fluid swing to consistently produce groundstrokes with depth.
Players with developing strokes that are seeking a lighter weight frame will probably appreciate the the Head Microgel Extreme Team most of all. It would also be an excellent prospect for improving juniors who are stepping up to their first full size frame.
