How it tested: Racquets flex at contact, which Tecnifibre refers to as “breathing.” VO2 Max Technology is designed to regulate “breathing” by putting carbon fibers at the 5 and 7 o’clock positions on the T-Fight 320 head to limit the flex, increase control and prevent twisting. Playtesters found a solid response with the frame, though some wished more pace came along with it. The racquet has plenty of weight, but it’s head light. So while it’s easy to swing, it makes you work for your power. Still, the maneuverability came in handy at net and added to the all-court appeal of the frame. The open string pattern (16-by- 19) aided in producing spin and kept the mid-plus string bed from feeling too stiff. The racquet-makers at Tecnifibre expect hard-hitting advanced players to use the racquet, so they put silicone in the handle to reduce the vibrations associated with using thick, control-oriented strings such as polyesters.
Playtester comments: “Easy to generate loads of spin”; “Great on touch and drop shots”; “Balls sometimes sailed on me”; “Needs more weight in the head.”
Bottom line: A versatile frame for high-level players who provide their own power.
Endorsed by tennis stars F.Verdasco and
J.Tipsarevic, Tecnifibre TFight 320 VO2 Max delivers maximum power along with stability and maneuverability to the elite player who likes to play from the baseline with a patient tactical approach. It is ideal for an intermediate to long rally duration.
VO2 Technology: Embedded Carbon Stabyl Fibers modulate the breathing/flexing of the racquet during ball impact for a more solid feel with excellent control and stability.
SSD (Square Section Design) Technology: The traditional cross section has been increased by 7.5% for increased power.
Carbon Stabyl Fibers: Embedded Carbon Stabyl Fibers which include Carbon Triaxial Fibers (0º/30º/90º) for greater torsion stability are located at the 5 and 7 o'clock position as well as the 4 and 8 o'clock position of the frame to increase control and reduce unnecessary twisting of the frame while increasing stability and maintaining a solid feel.
Tour Player Engineering: Specific fine tuning for Pro Players on Tour, silicone is added to the handle lay-up to limit bad vibrations for optimal comfort despite your choice of string.
