HOW IT TESTED: Wilson’s [K] Factor is comprised of four separate technologies, but not all of its [K] racquets come equipped with the total package. The [K] Four, however, has them all. The one that seems to have the greatest impact is the [K]onnector – two external wings molded into the frame at the three and nine o’clock positions to increase the dwell time of the ball on contact. It’s designed to give better control, comfort, and what our playtesters took notice of, a bigger sweet spot. But while a healthy size, several complained that missing the sweet spot resulted in plenty of vibrations. The [K] Four has good power and decent control, especially for those players who favor a large head size. With a fairly head heavy balance and an extra half inch in length, some found the racquet a challenge to maneuver, particularly at the baseline. But those who liked the handling enjoyed its performance on both ground strokes and volleys.

BOTTOM LINE: Comfort could be better, but should appeal to fans of oversize racquets who don’t want a hugely powerful frame.
