FINAL ANALYSIS
After last season’s M (for maximum) series, Prince introduces its O (for optimum) line this spring. The emphasis with this shoe, the OC I, is cushion-ing, highlighted by round plastic tubes in the heel. They provide enhanced shock absorption and better energy return for quicker movement. While not overwhelming, the cushioning is good. There’s also plenty of support, thanks to a hard-plastic bridge in the arch that stabilizes the area. We felt the OC I could be more breathable, but don’t worry: There’s an O model coming out with an empha-sis on ventilation that wasn’t ready for testing. Otherwise this is a solid all-court shoe.
